Through the prism of light and vision, this project is an experiment at the crossroads of art, science and ecology. It explores the pigmentation of flowering plants, considered a collection of ‘artificial dyes developed by pollinators over 200 million years,’ whose colours are not perceived in the same way by humans and insects. Pollinating insects see wavelengths invisible to the human eye, accessing a universe of colours and patterns that escape us. By finely adjusting the light spectrum, the balance of colours and contrasts can be altered, revealing a totally different world, perhaps closer to the colours perceived by insects.
